We need another morning newscast around here like we need another hole in the head. Or better yet, like we need a convention center. While we may not get a convention center, another morning news is
on the way. Jeff Whitson, Fox 23 GM, told the Business Review
that the station is planning to launch a morning news show, possibly in September. As we've pointed out before
, news is the garden where TV stations grow more places to put commercials, so it's not surprising that Fox 23 would join the AM club ---but this has to make you wonder:
Whitson believes there is room for a new show that will offer "something different" for morning viewers.
I don't know what he means, but if Mr. Whitson wants to put on a show that's "different"
from everyone else's, he's going to have to throw a lot of people at it.
